For Electropixel #9 Madelaine Pickett proposes the video work “access denied” that draws attention to the sensation of experiencing the cybernetic demands made by the UK benefits system. Its impact on the body and mental state of the individual dependent on these services.


Madelaine Pickett is an artist based in rural norfolk, her works often explore themes relating to technology and connectivity through the medium of painting and poetry. She studied at Norwich School of Art and Jordanstone school of Art in Dundee between 1997 – 2004, as well as travelling in Australia and New Zealand during this time. Madelaine Pickett is a member of the Well Artists in Norwich, regularly exhibiting at The forum library, Norwich. She has shown at St. Lawrence’s centre for the arts and participated to the Infinity Project from 2017-2018. She has sold paintings to numerous private collectors.
