The workshop will explore territories, observe and intervene!

Using the method of Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen’s Body Interfaces research, the body will be used as a data-gathering tool to explore places and interact with these. It introduces spatial theory and tactical intervention practices, where the body will be the technological tool to use as a critical instrument. In the area where the workshop will take place initial hierarchies and power structures will be deconstructed through engaging with a selected site, data-mining with and through the body as a catalyst.

The workshop will be in three parts:

1. Introduction to the method and to critical spatial practices.

2. Observation and registration – uncovering how the site is used, what is its characteristics and how is it systematized.

3. Intervention – how can we as performers hack into the use and the structure of space and create critical situations and potentially disrupt the use and the thought of space and place.

The workshop will be held in English.

Duration 3 hours on a selected location in Nantes.

Through its deconstructive nature, the workshop deals with hacking practices and creating alternative zones of interaction as well as it challenges the normative use of urban space. It wishes to give the participants an experience of dealing with the cityscape in a new and transformative way as well as to introduce methods of transgression and intervention through everyday spatial practices.

Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen is a Danish, Berlin-based independent artist researcher and curator, who works in the intersection between performance art and media. She hold a Master of Arts in Art History from Aarhus University (DK) as well as having an education from the College of Arts Crafts and Design in Nørresundby (DK), where she began studying performance art in 1999. Madsen’s research deals with theory as well as practice and how these can intertwine as inseparable entities. The main focus points of her work and research are: performative practices, post-humanism and genders studies, internet-based art and networked performance, site specificity, system aesthetics, open technology and sound. Madsen has presented her work internationally in various forms and contexts. Her Body Interfaces artistic research has been performed e. g. at the Fljótstunga Artist Residency in Iceland, the Electropixel Festival in Nantes (FR), Wolfart Project Space, Rotterdam (NL), as a week long durational processual scripting at Grüntaler9 in Berlin (DE) as well as presented at the Interface Politics International Conference in Barcelona. Madsen has additionally been a curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Roskilde (DK), a contributor to the anthology Cybermuseology published by Aarhus University Press as well as she lectures for Node Center for Curatorial Studies in Berlin (DE).

Tina Mariane Krogh Madsen Atelier le samedi 20 Août après-midi Workshop on August, saturday 20th afternoon www.tmkm.dk http://bodyinterfaces.tmkm.dk/#home http://tmkm.dk/works/bodyinterfaces.html INSCRIPTION à : orga@apo33.org Body space […]

[57,63

post-562","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-electro6","category-workshops6
["GET
