\u201cThe teeth of the LU little butter represent a symbolic calendar : The four corners represent the 4 seasons. This biscuit that measures 7cm is referencing the 7 days of the week and the 24 littles strays identify the 24 hours of a day. About form and lettering, it’s inspirated by a grandma’s doily.\u201d These are some of the lyrics from advertising of LU Company from mid-20th<\/sup> century. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNapperon\u201d (Doily) is a remaining of these radio ads, stretched in time by multiples of 17 (representing the 170th<\/sup> birthday of LU in Nantes).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Rachel Devorah is an American sound artist living in Paris. Her work has been heard at the International SuperCollider Symposium, Pioneer Works (nyc), the Music for People and Thingamajigs Festival (sf) and have been supported by residencies at R\u00f8st [Norway] and STEIM [Netherlands]. She earned her MA in composition at Mills College and is currently a Jefferson Doctoral Fellow in composition and computer technologies at the University of Virginia.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Les dents du petit beurre lu repr\u00e9sentent un calendrier symbolique : Les quatre coins repr\u00e9sentent les 4 saisons. Ce biscuit qui mesure 7 cm fait reference aux 7 jours de la semaine et les 24 petits ponts s\u2019identifient aux 24 heures de la journ\u00e9e. Pour la forme et le lettrage, il est inspir\u00e9 d\u2019un napperon de grand-m\u00e8re”. Ce sont quelques-unes des paroles pr\u00e9sentes dans les publicit\u00e9s de LU \u00e0 la radio \u00e0 partir du milieu du 20\u00e8me si\u00e8cle.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Napperon\u201d est un retour de ces publicit\u00e9s \u00e0 la radio, \u00e9tir\u00e9es dans le temps par des multiples de 17 (pour repr\u00e9senter les 170 ans de LU \u00e0 Nantes).<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Rachel Devorah est un artiste sonore am\u00e9ricaine vivant \u00e0 Paris. Son travail a \u00e9t\u00e9 entendu lors de l’International Supercollider Symposium, au Pioneer Works (New York), au Music for people and thingamajigs (Californie) et a \u00e9t\u00e9 soutenu par des r\u00e9sidences \u00e0 R\u00f8st (Norv\u00e8ge) et au STEIM (Hollande).
